Why The Lollipop?

When we started Vandra, one of the first things we kept coming back to was format.

Not flavor first. Not branding first. Not even caffeine first.

Format.

We knew we wanted to build something for people who move through the world differently. People who create, explore, stay out late, chase ideas, follow energy, and live in motion. Creatives. Artists. Festival-goers. Skaters. Surfers. Entrepreneurs. People who do not always move in straight lines, and do not want products that feel rigid, awkward, or disconnected from the way they actually live.

So we kept asking ourselves a simple question: what kind of energy product actually moves with you?

Most of what exists today did not feel like the answer.

The energy category is full of products that feel overly functional and under-inspired. Drinks that have to be carried around, finished quickly, or set down somewhere. Cans that spill, cups that get warm, bottles that feel bulky, powders that need water, products that turn energy into a task. Even when they work, they often do not feel good to use. They do not feel elevated. They do not feel like something that belongs in a beautiful, social, creative life.

We wanted something else.

We wanted something portable enough to come with you anywhere, but distinct enough to actually feel exciting. Something that did not interrupt the moment, but became part of it. Something that felt effortless, stylish, and a little unexpected.

That is what led us to the lollipop.

The more we thought about it, the more it made sense. A lollipop is lightweight, easy to carry, easy to use, and naturally mobile. You do not have to commit to finishing a whole drink at once. You do not have to hold a can the entire time. You do not have to worry about spills, mess, or carrying something bulky through a festival, onto the beach, into a creative session, or from one part of your day to the next.

It just moves with you.

That mattered to us because Vandra was never meant to be an energy product for people sitting still. It was meant for people in motion. The ones bouncing between work and play, city and nature, day and night. The ones going from a creative session to dinner, from a surf check to a meeting, from a pregame to a party, from one idea straight into the next.

We wanted a format that could keep up with that kind of life.

But beyond portability, the lollipop had something else that we could not ignore: presence.

It feels iconic. It feels playful. It feels fresh. There is something about it that immediately cuts through the sameness of the category. In a space full of aggressive cans, clinical powders, and products designed with pure function in mind, the lollipop felt different. More expressive. More cultural. More aesthetic.

And honestly, more fun.

That was important to us too.

Because the people we are building for do not just care about whether something works. They care about how it feels. How it looks. How it fits into their life. They want products with taste, identity, and energy of their own. They want things that feel considered. Things that feel like they belong in their world.

A lollipop can be functional, yes. But it can also be social. It can be stylish. It can be memorable. It can spark curiosity. It can feel like an object people actually want to be seen with, not something they hide in the bottom of a backpack.

That is a huge part of why we loved it.

We also believed that if we were going to create something people came back to, it had to taste really good. Not just acceptable. Not just tolerable because it has caffeine in it. Actually good. The kind of good that makes you want another one. The kind of good that feels like a small experience, not a compromise.

The lollipop let us lean into that. It let energy feel more pleasurable, more intentional, and more integrated into a lifestyle rather than just a routine.

At its core, Vandra is about more than stimulation. It is about energy as a feeling. A state. A vibe. A way of moving through the world with more presence, more aliveness, and more rhythm. So when it came time to choose our format, we did not want the obvious answer. We wanted the right answer.

For us, that was the lollipop.

Because it is portable. Because it is aesthetic. Because it tastes good. Because it feels different. Because it moves the way our people move.

And because sometimes the coolest ideas are the ones that make you stop for a second and think, wait, why has no one done this right before?

That is how Vandra started.

And that is why we chose the lollipop.
